Altman Vilandrie and Company
There’s more to life than telecom

As a boutique consultancy in a dynamic industry, we are creating a new kind of culture—one that combines the enthusiasm and passion of a start-up with the professionalism and respect of an industry thought leader. AV&Co. has maintained its boutique philosophy since Rory Altman and Ed Vilandrie founded the firm in 2002. The privately held company currently has 50+ employees and is managed by a team of five directors.

We provide our analysts and consultants with ongoing professional development opportunities. We believe strongly in merit-based compensation and promotion, and our professional development provides ongoing training in analytical techniques, as well as in soft skills, like presentation skills and client management. Our team members receive formal, project-level performance assessments and bi-annual reviews.

Where people matter

The people who work here form our culture. AV&Co. is built on strong, open relationships between analysts and consultants, and Directors. We have an open door policy where you are encouraged to provide feedback and ask questions.

A day in the life

Describing a typical day working at our company would be difficult as the work is diverse and the pace is fast. Team members work on complex issues, while receiving support and encouragement from across the company. We try and blend fun with work, and often enjoy dinner together or participate in all-company activities like our annual ski trip.

Company Activities

Each year, we have several organized firm wide events such a ski trip, summer outing, intern bowling event and holiday party. In the summer, we field a kickball team, the DSLAMs, in the Boston Sport and Social League. Weekly Friday happy hour provides a great time to catch up with colleagues.

Community Service

AV&Co's employee led Community Service Community organizes opportunities for staff to participate in initiatives within the greater Boston community. On an ongoing basis, the firm also supports Rosie's Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women in Boston, through toiletries and food donations www.rosiesplace.org.
